Friday Night Lights at Silver Eagle Stadium will look a little different in 2023!

Updated on 10/08/2024

Friday Night Lights at Silver Eagle Stadium will look a little different in 2023! On April 25th, The Egg Harbor Twp. Board of Education officially named Robert Davis to lead the next chapter of the Egg Harbor Township Football Eagles! When the 2023 football season begins, there will be very few, if any, sidelines with more coaching success than the Egg Harbor Township Eagles. In just 15 season, Coach Davis led Barnegat to 82 victories, four conference championships, four division titles, a group final appearance, and several Coach of the year honors. All the more impressive when you factor Coach Davis started the football program at Barnegat. With nearly three decades of football coaching experience, Coach Davis passion for the game is stronger than ever. “I’m excited, so excited. I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to get back on a football sideline and when this position opened up I knew immediately it was a perfect fit. My fam

Coach Lucchio Set to take over the Boys Track and Field Program!

Updated on 10/08/2024

Twelve years ago, Coach Ryan Smith was asked to continue the traditions and values set by legendary Coach, George Wilkinson, and lead the Boys' Track and Field Program. During those twelve years, Coach Smith, or as the students refer to him 'Coach Smitty', helped guide the EHT Track Program to several impressive accomplishments.   During Coaches' tenure, The Eagle's were 97 & 6 in Cape Atlantic League Dual Meets and competed in 22 Group IV South Jersey Section Championships. The Boys T&F program won 10 Section Championships and placed second in 7 of those 22 championship meets! And most importantly, more than 50 student athletes went on to compete collegiately in track and field.    Coach Smith wanted to say  "I am very thankful of the relationships that I have had with the athletes, coaches, families, and staff during my years as head coach.  We have cemented our place in school history with a lis

The Eagles (3-4), hosted the annual EHT Pride Festival game against Lenape (5-1-1) on Saturday. Lenape stole the game away with a 2-1 win, scoring in the last 6 minutes of the game. Boys soccer got a lot of their tough games out of the way and are looking forward to piling up a bunch of power points and wins looking forward.      After another strong showing against a good team in Lenape, the boys yet again fell short of their goals and drop to 3-4 on the season. The boys were down 1-0 heading into halftime and came out with a goal halfway through the second half thanks to junior Paulo Rizzo. Despite tying the game, costly mistakes and mental errors cost the eagles the game when they allowed the game winning goal in the final minutes.      Jack Carrol had 8 saves which kept the Eagles in the game for a good majority of the game,  Paulo Rizzo was promoted from jv for this game and in his first minute scored the Eagles fir

The Eagles suffered a big loss to an undefeated Cherry Hill East 35-6. The Eagles showed some promising glimpses, scoring late in the first half and then coming up short right before the half ended. Down 21-6 coming into the second half, the cougars ran away with the game scoring two more touchdowns to seal it 35-6.      The Eagles are currently facing injury problems, with having a handful of starters going down the past couple of weeks.  This is causing the offense to figure out a game plan battling against adversity. Defense showed some flashes, but ultimately struggled stopping the high powered Cougar offense.        The Eagles did have some positives from the loss, with Max Cocci and Tyler Durham leading Group 5 in tackles, John Lazos leading the Group 5 safeties in tackles, and TJ Biglan leading the Group 5 defensive tackles in total tackles.      A weakened roster had many players out of position and inexperien

The Eagles (3-3) hosted the Fighting Clan of Vineland (1-2-2) yesterday. The Fighting Clan pulled an upset win over the Eagles with a final score of 2-0, giving the Eagles their third straight loss.        The game started wtih a strong defensive performance early in the first half, but the Eagles allowed a goal and were unable to capitalize on key offensive possessions that could've changed the outcome of the game.  In total, the Eagles out-shot the Fighting Clan 20 to 3, but it just wasn't their day.       Senior captain Julianny Bados said after the upset loss, “It's a learning experience and we will not give up as we still have an eye on the CAL Tournament and the Group 4 Championship. I gotta give credit to coach Carlos who is giving us a lot of hope and making us better everyday.”    The boys will have five days to recover and reset as they will host Lenape on Sat

The Lady Eagles field hockey team lost 7-0 to Ocean City yesterday, but the score does not accurately portray the Eagles performance. The Eagles had corners drawn, the defense came out hard and stopped plays from a skillful Ocean City offense.  The Eagles maintained a lot of control throughout the game adn there was much improvement, but there were missed opportunities that would ultimately cost them the game.       Some notable players from the game were Roslyn Sanns with 5 saves, Kaci Velardi, Abby Desher, and Jamie Decker worked well getting the ball up the field.      The Lady Eagles lineup has shown improvement throughout the season.  This young team plans to build their bond and improve their skills.   Despite the recent run of form, the morale is still high and the Lady Eagles expect a great season moving forward.  The field hockey team will be at OLM

The Eagles battled against a tough Bridgeton team on Friday night.  Missed opportunities forced the Eagles to fall short of the comeback win.       The high powered Eagle offense fell short of keeping their averages, only scoring 22 points and 200 yards on offense after averaging 37.5 points and 400 yards through the first two games of the season. Bridgeton got the better of our special teams by having a kick returned and a blocked field goal, while the Eagles had a kick return of their own. Despite the loss, the defense caused its first turnovers of the season with two fumbles.      Some key players of the game include Tyler Durham with 16 tackles and a forced fumble, sophomore Max Cocci with 17 tackles and a fumble recovery, junior Chase Ford with 11 tackles and a forced fumble, TJ Biglan with a 8 tackles and a fumble recovery, and sophomore Xavier Cocci with two rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdow
